Strokestown Angling Club has been reformed to increase local and visitor enjoyment of all of the above.
Within 10km of Strokestown there are 69 lakes in total. There are 10 lakes which haven't been fished properly in 20 years. A dozen have never been properly fished due to poor access. 7 of them unfished lakes are on the same system of water were the Irish Rudd record was broken 3 times. Coney Lake still holds the record which stands at 4lb-08oz and caught by Hugh Gough in Coney lake (1996). |
