The Strokestown Feile committee was formed over 10 years ago to celebrate the life of Frank McGann.
Frank came from Lisalway, Castlerea but lived in Dublin. However, the noted musician helped and took care of many young people when they travelled to work in our capital city, not alone introducing them to traditional music but also seeking employment for them.
The festival, in his memory, takes place in Strokestown normally during the 2nd week of October.
The internationally recognised festival sees musicians gather from all parts of the country and visitors arrive in town from across the waters.
