 Imagine.ie has today announced investment in rural broadband for Roscommon & Galway. It is to invest €300m in rolling out Irelands first 5G wireless broadband service, specifically focusing on rural Ireland.
Between now and next June the new 5G broadband service with speeds of 150mbps will be available on masts including Sliabh Ban, Strokestown. This service by Imagine will be available to 300/400 customers at each location with an installation cost of €150 and a monthly charge of €60. Those wishing to avail of the service can register at www.imagine.ie While this service does not suit everybody, it will help many of those in rural Ireland who can access it, to operate from home and shows that progress is being made in rolling out broadband services across Ireland. Imagine intend to double the number of sites where this 5G service is available between June 2019 and June 2020, with 325 sites connected nationwide.
