 Roscommon County Council is hosting the Connacht showing of ‘Women in Politics and Public Life 1918-2018’ in Áras and Chontae, Ros Comáin, from Monday 15th July – Friday 27th September 2019.
This important national exhibition, curated by historian Sinéad McCoole, and supported by the Department of Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht/Commemorations Unit, uses mixed media to tell the stories of the achievement of women in an accessible and interesting manner. In addition, there is a special Roscommon aspect to the exhibition, with Margaret Gillespie/Gretta Cousins, Rosalind May Gracias de Cadiz, Rosalind May Gracias de Cadiz, Lelia Gertrude Gracias de Cadiz, Aleen Isabel Cust, Dr Bridget Lyons Thornton, Dr Noëlle Ffrench Davies, and Johanna Greally all represented.
