Strokestown Angling Club
Within 10km of Strokestown there are 69 lakes in total. Only 12 / 14 get fished on a regular basis.
There are 10 lakes which haven't been fished properly in 20 years. A dozen have never been properly fished due to poor access.
7 of them unfished lakes are on the same system of water were the Irish Rudd record was broken 3 times.
Coney Lake still holds the record which stands at 4lb-08oz and caught by Hugh Gough in Coney lake (1996).
Strokestown Angling Club has been reformed to increase local and visitor enjoyment of all of the above.
