National Heritage Week 2020 is happening – and it’s a #HeritageWeek with a difference!
With ongoing restrictions on social gatherings due to COVID-19, this year, we’re not calling for events, instead, we’re inviting you to organise a project that explores a topic associated with this year’s theme – ‘Heritage and Education: Learning from our Heritage’.
To help you think about what aspect of #heritage you might want to explore under the theme of ‘Heritage and Education’, we have developed three broad sub-themes which can be considered for projects:
* Heritage on your doorstep
* Relearning skills from our heritage
* The heritage of education.
If you would like to get involved as a project organiser go to http://ow.ly/S32Y50AzNEH. Once you register as a project organiser you will find ‘how to’ resources which will help you with your project. *Note there will be no printed County or National Event Guide this year.
The most engaging projects will be featured on the Heritage Week website during #HeritageWeek2020, and will be considered for a Heritage Week 2020 Award. There is also a #County award this year!
"... It’s time to get involved in hosting a project for #NationalHeritageWeek 2020. If you are planning a project please keep in touch so we can help you publicise your project ..." said Nollaig Feeney, Heritage Officer, Roscommon County Council.
You can contact the Heritage Office by email: firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone: 090 663 7271.
