Agricultural Show
The first Strokestown Agricultural Show was held in the grounds of Strokestown Park House in 1867. It holds the Irish record for the longest running Agricultural Show, without any breaks (or pandemics!!)
Being one of the last shows each year, we host a series of All Ireland Livestock Finals (including cattle, sheep, horses, ponies, dogs and fowl) with a prize fund of around €45, 000. There are also large farm, garden, arts & crafts sections.
Funding is through exhibition entry fees, gate fees and local and regional sponsorship – both commercial and private and on occasion through Leader and Council funding.
